Stories & Experiences from Jonathan's Garden Journals

Jonathan loves to share & learn with gardeners of all ages. His journals are choked full of garden experiences, stories and photographs.  His passion for gardening and his enthusiasm for history combine in all his programs & presentations. Growing and studying herbs

His footsteps have walked along many garden paths and crossed several continents. He has followed the trails of famous American explorers and has captured their stories as told through the eyes of the plants that greeted them. From America's back yard gardens; its urban roof tops; or its formal botanical landscapes, plants have shared their history with Jonathan.

The following are a few of his most asked for topics

God's Garden Footsteps

In the beginning God  'The Master Gardener' of the universe, created the heavens and the earth...now the earth was formless and without any landscapes...so on the third day God created plants...on the six day God created gardeners.

Jonathan takes us on a journey down the garden path that the Bible follows. He views, through a gardener's "eye" the beauty of pastoral verses; of Christ's garden parables; and of the plants that are vividly described and rooted in God's Word.

Lewis & Clark's Green Footsteps

This is a modern journey across America's prairie seas and its majestic Rocky Mountains.it is a botanical journey of the flora growing along the way.

It retraces the path originally taken by the Lewis & Clark Expedition as they charted the unknown heartland of what we now call the United States of America.

Herbs: Plants with Attitudes

This workshop will excite and energize you with gardening ideas and techniques. Weather in containers or landscape settings, there is always space to grow herbs. We will share fun, and time saving ideas on how to select, grow and maintain culinary herbs in our landscape.

Our garden dreams will come alive with an herbal attitude. From garden to table, fresh grown herbs will excite and add a sparkle to our culinary dishes and beverages.

Garden Party & Afternoon Tea

Sipping a freshly brewed cup of tea is backdrop of this program. The history and intrigue of the plant, Camellia sinensis, is told while the audience enjoys the aroma and taste of a cup of tea.

Plants that provide herbal teas, are visited in some of the most prestigious botanical gardens of Europe, Canada, and The United States.

A good cup of tea and a scone are a time to relax and enjoy God's botanical gifts.
